FAQ

Therapy, also known as counseling or psychotherapy, is a professional and confidential process where you get to work with a trained therapist to address emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges. The goal of therapy is to promote self-awareness, develop coping
strategies, and achieve personal growth and well-being.
Therapy can be beneficial for a range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, trauma, and more. If you find that your emotions or challenges are impacting your daily life, relationships, or overall well-being, seeking therapy might be a helpful step.
Choosing a therapist involves finding someone you feel comfortable with and who has expertise in the area you’re seeking help with. Consider factors like specialization, approach to therapy, location, availability, and compatibility with your personality and needs. If, after we meet, you don’t think I’m a good fit, THAT’S OKAY! We can discuss next steps and I can give you referrals.
In a therapy session, you can expect a safe and confidential environment to discuss your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. I will actively listen, offer insights, provide guidance, and help you develop coping strategies. Sessions typically last about 55 minutes and can occur weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed.
Psh, nope! Therapy is beneficial for many things from everyday stress to more complex challenges. It’s not limited to severe issues; many people seek therapy for personal growth, self-discovery, improving relationships, managing transitions, and enhancing overall well-being.
The duration of therapy varies based on individual needs and goals. Some people may see progress in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. You and I will collaborate to determine the most suitable time-frame for your situation.
Yes, therapy is confidential. Therapists are bound by ethical and legal standards to keep your information private. However, there are limits to confidentiality, such as situations involving potential harm to yourself or others and instances of abuse or neglect.
Definitely! I help individuals with anxiety and depression by teaching coping skills, challenging negative thought patterns, and providing a safe space to explore underlying causes. Techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) are commonly used to manage these conditions.
Yes, online therapy, also known as teletherapy or e-counseling, is a convenient and effective option for many people. It allows you to connect with a therapist through video calls, phone calls, or messaging platforms from the comfort of your own space. We use a HIPAA compliant program known as Simple Practice.
Good Question! My Private Pay fee is $150 per sixty minute session. However, if you have insurance, that may change the out of pocket cost to you. If you pay through your insurance, your copay is determined based on your insurance plan and your yearly deductible.
I take most Anthem, Cigna, Aetna and Optum plans. I do not take medicaid.
